Resumo: | This doctoral dissertation is focused on both study and analysis of discourse gender in consumer’s cognitive process, leading him/her to make judgments in intuitive or cognitive ways. As for the cognitive process, that establishes judgments and leads to decision making, the dual process theories (DPT) were developed in the field of psychology, and they sustain, in essence, the existence of a process and a set of actions generated intuitively or rationally when exposed to something. The aim of this doctoral dissertation is the creation of a model to identify the discourse gender in a way it arouses the cognitive process of individuals before texts, influencing their judgment and decision making. The study consists of research on satisfaction/dissatisfaction perception of consumers that wrote reviews in Amazon.com about books of different authors and time, organized in two thematic groups, one containing reviews of classic novels of North-American literature and the other about classic novels of British literature. The selection of reviews in those two thematic groups is justified by their differences regarding literary tradition, because of the nationality of the writers, as well as linguistic variations, along with aspects related to sociocultural and historical contexts. The criteria in determining the sample were grounded in the choice of books with the most substantial amount of reviews, and those refer to three North-American novels and other three British novels. In a total of 100,000 reviews, the final sample was 8,378. This dissertation uses procedures of qualitative analysis, with the social constructivist conception approach to understanding the different significations of individuals related to objects or understanding or various aspects. In the context of this research work, the discourse gender theory is a way to understand the characteristics of the reviews text conception. Due to the nature of this study, a content analysis methodology is also used. From the sample of both North-American and British Literature reviews, consumers with higher involvement by the novel elaborate reviews with superior analytic density, deeper associations, while consumers with difficulties in understanding a specific novel, elaborate reviews with lower analytic density and are more inclined to describe their negative impressions, moved by the description of their effort or suffering while reading that novel |

Em relação ao processamento cognitivo, que estabelece os julgamentos e conduz às decisões, desenvolveram-se na área de psicologia as chamadas teorias do duplo processamento (TDP), as quais sustentam, essencialmente, a existência de um processo e de um conjunto de ações manifestados de modo intuitivo ou racional na reação diante de algo a que se é exposto. O objetivo geral desta tese de doutorado é criar um modelo para se identificar o gênero do discurso, na maneira como desperta o processamento cognitivo dos indivíduos perante tais escritos, influenciando-lhes no julgamento e tomada de decisão. O estudo consiste na pesquisa sobre a percepção de satisfação e insatisfação dos consumidores que publicaram reviews no Amazon.com sobre livros de diferentes autores e períodos, organizados em dois blocos temáticos, um contendo reviews de clássicos da literatura norte-americana e outro sobre romances de literatura britânica. A separação das reviews nesses blocos temáticos se justifica pelas diferenças de tradição literária das nacionalidades dos autores das obras, bem como variantes linguísticas, além de aspectos relacionados a questões socioculturais e históricas. O critério de determinação da amostra se fez pela escolha das obras que apresentassem o maior número de reviews, e estas se referem a três obras de origem norte-americana e outras três de origem britânica. Em um total de 100.000 reviews, a amostra final foi de 8.378. Esta tese utiliza procedimentos de metodologia qualitativa de dados, com abordagem da concepção construtivista social para compreender os significados expressos pelos indivíduos em relação a objetos ou entendimento de variados aspectos. No âmbito desta pesquisa, recorre-se à teoria dos gêneros do discurso, como um dos meios para se compreender as características da concepção do texto das reviews. Em virtude das características deste estudo, utilizam-se também procedimentos de análise de conteúdo. A partir da visão de conjunto da amostra de reviews de literatura norte-americana e britânica, observa-se que consumidores com maior envolvimento pela obra, elaboram reviews com maior densidade analítica, profundidade nas associações, enquanto consumidores com dificuldades para entender o romance, elaboram reviews com menor densidade analítica, mais propensas a descrever suas impressões negativas, movidos pela descrição do esforço ou sofrimento durante a leituraCoordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfhttp://tede2.pucsp.br/tede/retrieve/49409/Ana%20L%c3%bacia%20Moura%20Novais.pdf.jpgporPontifícia Universidade Católica de São PauloPrograma de Estudos Pós-Graduados em AdministraçãoPUC-SPBrasilFaculdade de Economia, Administração, Contábeis e AtuariaisAnálise do discursoTeorias do duplo processamentoConteúdo gerado pelo usuárioLeitores - Reação críticaDiscourse analysisDual process theoriesUser-generated contentReader-response criticismCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ADMINISTRACAOA influência do gênero do discurso na mente do consumidor: uma análise pelas teorias do duplo processamentoThe influence of discourse gender in the mind of the consumer: an analysis by the dual process theoriesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações da PUC_SPinstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)instacron:PUC_SPTEXTAna Lúcia Moura Novais.pdf.txtAna Lúcia Moura Novais.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain296139https://repositorio.pucsp.br/xmlui/bitstream/handle/22297/4/Ana%20L%c3%bacia%20Moura%20Novais.pdf.txt381992c4d3f2f2f025cbb6108f1b1227MD54LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
