Resumo: Gambiarra (kludge), in this work, corresponds to daily improvements, occurs through deviations in its functions and uses, through gestures or objects. This practice is understood in its complexity as part of the cultural processes of society, understanding it broadly, also encompassing the thought that it’s constituted. The research clipping focuses on Latin America. The hypothesis is that some specificities of these Latin American societies, such as a relational ability to draw relationships between distant cultural elements, it creates a favorable environment for the development of practices such as kludge. Research’s corpus consists of a set of examples of kludges, most of it presented by photographs, many are Cao Guimarães’s artistic works. This theoretical study uses bibliographical and documentary methods, aiming to analyze kludge to understand culture through its objects. The theoretical framework is based on semiotics of culture, and it consists of Yuri Lotman, Semiosphere I, through which a reflection on the communication between systems is developed, and the Russian formalist Yuri Tinianov, together with Amálio Pinheiro, with the ideas of cultural series. Thus, the modes of interaction between cultural series are understood as communication between systems, which occurs in the junctions of different elements in the composition of a kludge. In addition to the theoretical framework Pinheiro's studies on Latin America , especially the theory of mixture - along with other authors - that allows to look at the multiplicity within the plural composition of culture in these societies: Oswald de Andrade, with the concept of anthropophagy in the cultural field; Viveiros de Castro, with the notion of incorporation brought from the anthropophagic rituals of the Tupinambás; as well as design scholars such as Ernesto Oroza and Rodrigo Boufleur, among others. The relevance of the investigation lies in the fact that operations like these are a trend in these societies, even though they are marginalized common practices. This research becomes useful in the academic field due to the need for further debate about such a common practice in everyday life. And by dealing with an everyday object, it can also generate benefits in practical life. Paying attention to the cultural processes of Latin America opens readings for a better understanding of these communities. Reflecting on the practices of kludges makes it possible to understand in their gestures and compositions the power before and beyond the imposed normativity. Kludge relates to the order of small and simple everyday events, as well as the deviations and renewals of major impact on social life. More than deviating from standards and making life easier, kludge can provide a constant reinvention of new possibilities

Kludge relates to the order of small and simple everyday events, as well as the deviations and renewals of major impact on social life. More than deviating from standards and making life easier, kludge can provide a constant reinvention of new possibilitiesGambiarra, neste trabalho, corresponde aos improvisos de ordem cotidiana que ocorrem por meio de desvios nos usos e funções, via gestos ou objetos. Tal prática é compreendida em sua complexidade como parte dos processos culturais de uma sociedade, entendendo-a de maneira ampla, abarcando também o pensamento que a constitui. O recorte da investigação se concentra na América Latina. Parte-se da hipótese de que por conta de uma série de especificidades das sociedades latino-americanas, como a habilidade de traçar relações entre elementos culturais distantes, a mesma gera um ambiente favorável para o desenvolvimento de práticas como as gambiarras. O corpus da pesquisa consiste em um conjunto de exemplos de gambiarras, em sua maioria por meio de fotografias, muitas delas trabalhos artísticos de Cao Guimarães. Este estudo, de natureza teórica, vale-se de métodos bibliográficos e documentais e objetiva analisar as gambiarras a fim de entender a cultura por meio dos seus objetos. O referencial teórico, baseado na semiótica da cultura, consiste em Iuri Lotman, Semiosfera I, por meio do qual se reflete acerca da comunicação entre sistemas, e o formalista russo Iuri Tinianov, junto a Amálio Pinheiro, com a ideia de séries culturais. Assim, os modos de interação entre as séries culturais são entendidos como comunicação entre sistemas, o que ocorre na junção de diferentes elementos na composição de uma gambiarra. Somam-se ao quadro teórico os estudos de Pinheiro acerca da América Latina, especialmente a teoria da mestiçagem – junto a outros autores – que possibilitam olhar para a composição cultural múltipla dessas sociedades; Oswald de Andrade, com o conceito de antropofagia no âmbito cultural; Viveiros de Castro, com a noção de incorporação dos rituais antropofágicos dos Tupinambás; além de estudiosos da área do design, como Ernesto Oroza e Rodrigo Boufleur, entre outros. A pertinência da investigação reside no fato de que operações como essas são uma tendência em tais sociedades, ainda que sejam práticas comumente marginalizadas. A pesquisa se faz útil no âmbito acadêmico pela necessidade de maiores debates acerca de uma prática tão frequente no dia a dia. E, por se tratar de um objeto da ordem do cotidiano, pode também gerar benefícios na vida prática. Atentar-se para os processos culturais da América Latina abre leituras para uma melhor compreensão desta. Refletir sobre as práticas da gambiarra possibilita compreender em seus gestos e composições a potência antes e além da normatividade imposta. Por meio de uma perspectiva ampliada, que leva em conta a gambiarra como uma forma de criação, é possível enxergá-la além dos desvios de padrões e facilitadores cotidianos, abrindo o olhar para a emersão de reinvenções constante de novas possibilidadesCoordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfhttp://tede2.pucsp.br/tede/retrieve/51238/Maria%20Fernanda%20de%20Mello%20Lopes.pdf.jpgporPontifícia Universidade Católica de São PauloPrograma de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Comunicação e SemióticaPUC-SPBrasilFaculdade de Filosofia, Comunicação, Letras e ArtesCultura - Modelos semióticosGambiarraAntropofagia - América LatinaSemiotics of cultureKludgeAnthropophagy - Latin AmericaCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::COMUNICACAOGambiarra como processo: uma antropofagia latino-americanainfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações da PUC_SPinstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)instacron:PUC_SPTEXTMaria Fernanda de Mello Lopes.pdf.txtMaria Fernanda de Mello Lopes.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain240404https://repositorio.pucsp.br/xmlui/bitstream/handle/22878/4/Maria%20Fernanda%20de%20Mello%20Lopes.pdf.txt5fdeece726678e36e7f1654bd0e4e21eMD54LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
