The subject of this academic master's research is the study of the LGPD - General Law for the Protection of Personal Data in view of the technological advances that have taken place in society and the impacts of the LGPD in the life of the individual who is guaranteed the protection of personal data as a fundamental right. The aim is to specifically analyze a law, the evolution of the concept of data over time, a s well as the impacts caused by the advancement of technology, which significantly changes the environment and the instruments and tools available for the capture, storage and handling of that data. We will investigate whether the manipulation of personal data may, in any way, violate their dignity, or in a broad sense, their Human Rights and whether the legal protection available to the data subject has been edited in order to protect their rights against them that, eventually, are usurping and improperly using your personal data. The problem of processing, storing and using the data of a given person arises as data and information become increasingly available and are made available, especially in digital media, and are often "collected" in an unauthorized manner, as they are captured through numerous data capture systems and programs, which identify, for example, our purchasing/consumption habits or needs, sometimes requiring only the data subject's visit to the internet sites (websites). Furthermore, given the possibilities of violating the citizen's personal rights in relation to personal information, many of them, sensitive, we will see how effective the LGPD asset is and truly protected, or not
