The paper at hand seeks to analyze the extension of the scope of the arbitrator's duty of disclosure in the Brazilian scenario. To achieve this objective, a theoretical analysis of the main aspects of the arbitrator's duty of disclosure was carried out – dealing with the following aspects: definition and grounds, object, limits and content – as well as a practical analysis of 10 (ten) decisions about the violation of the arbitrator's duty of disclosure, in the context of the challenge decisions of arbitral awards in the Brazilian national courts. As a result, a 3 (three) step method was developed to determine if there was a violation of the arbitrator's duty of disclosure. The main conclusion obtained was that the scope of the arbitrator's duty of disclosure is objective, determined by the law applicable to the arbitration procedure, and by the arbitration rules chosen by the parties, and therefore, those standards must be applied more clearly by the Brazilian national courts
