The article focus on the challenges and perspectives of the regulation on access to Brazilian biodiversity. With the advent of Federal Law 13,123/2015, or Biodiversity Law, a new system was created to provide and authorize access to genetic heritage and associated traditional knowledge. The Law of Biodiversity revoked Provisional Measure No. 2.186-16 /2001 ("MP") in order to reduce bureaucracy and facilitate for those interested the use of Brazilian biodiversity in their studies and products. However, this subject is rather complex and current standards still require adaptations and clarification through technical guidance and resolutions to achieve their goal
