Resumo: The aim of this study is to contribute to the understanding of "Alternative Dispute Resolutions" (ADR - known expression on the American experience) emphasizing the role of mediation, both for prevention and resolution disputes, strengthening the ties of citizenship and civility of the community, encouraging the opponents to find a solution for their conflicts. We also wanted to demonstrate the need of this study and implementation of such methods in our society, always seeking social peace and the empowerment of citizens. During the study we hope that the reader can understand what are the alternative dispute resolutions, what is the purpose of multi-door courthouse, their principles, the laws behind them and how they are developed in different countries all over the world

Procura-se ainda demonstrar a necessidade do estudo e da implementação de tais meios em nossa sociedade, visando sempre a pacificação social e o empoderamento dos cidadãos.
