The present work has the aim to reflect upon learning as viewed by Psychoanalisys and Genetic Epistemiology, and, to reach this objective, it approaches the child sexual theories (Oedipus Complex and Castration Complex) and some hidden and metaphoric meanings found in the Cinderella fairy tale, relating all them with the process of learning. Thus, this work is constituted of four chapters, presented in the following manner: Chapter 1 explores the theories which will give support to this work, i.e., it examines Jean Piaget’s genetic epistemiology and Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalisys, approaching their main aspects and searching a point of convergence between them, a point which justifies their union in psychopedagogical work. It also examines how the solution of the Oedipus complex establishes the conditions for subject structuring and, at the same time, it turns learning possible. Chapter 2 shows the fairy tales genre, approaching its origins, characteristics and its relationship with psychoanalysis and psychopedagogy. Chapter 3 specifically examines the fairy tale Cinderella in two of its versions, by Perrault and by the Grimm Brothers, verifying possible meanings and differences between them. It also relates this fairy tale with learning and with Oedipus and Castration complexes, and articulates metaphorically the French Cinderella, by Charles Perrault, with genetic epistemiology.
