The present work proposes a reading of “A Obscena Senhora D,” a book written by Hilda Hilst, based on psychoanalysis, with the aim of exploring the indexes of representation of mourning and the use of obscene language to illustrate the erotic category. It is also important to comment on the form of discourse adopted by the author, given the expressive importance of writing for understanding the phenomena studied. After delving into the form adopted in Hilda Hilst's text, the work unfolds into two other points of analysis. The presence of eroticism in the work is studied from the perspective of Georges Bataille, a scholar whose notions are commonly related to psychoanalysis. Subsequently, a link is woven between his notes and the theory of drives, originally introduced by Freud. Transitioning to the psychoanalytic field, the study seeks to understand the elaboration of mourning expressed through writing, taking it as an aspect of instinctual sublimation. The theoretical basis of this work is in Freudian psychoanalytic theory and has some contributions from Lacan. The documentary analysis of Hilda Hilst's work is based on the book mentioned with the support of some interviews and articles that resume the author's work. At the same time, the erotic dimension is understood and articulated, in a dialogue between Batallian reading and psychoanalysis
