Resumo: This is a qualitative phenomenological research that aims to understand the ways of childhood from the existential phenomenological perspective originated in Heidegger, with the specific target of understanding how the different manners of being a child appear in group activities held at a municipal school in São Paulo. The path constructed in this thesis came from the recognition of the child as a historical and cultural being, seeking to understand how the concept of "child" was created throughout the development of Western thought, according to Ariès. We turn to Merleau-Ponty who contributed to the understanding of childhood in the light of phenomenology, and mainly the contributions made by Martin Heidegger, to apprehend what was gathered from the activities held with the children, understood as a Dasein. Three meetings were held with six children of the 2nd year of elementary school I, aged from seven to eight years of age. At the first meeting two activities were proposed. Firstly, a presentation was held and then it was proposed that the children build a city. On the second meeting the development of a collective drawing with the theme "how is my life" was proposed and in the third meeting feedback of the encounters was given. The analysis was not only based on the children‟s drawings, but also greatly took conversations that occurred during the meetings into consideration. For this, we attempted to comprehend which ways of being a child were unveiled in light of existential phenomenology by Heidegger. Ways of being a child were brought to light and revealed possibilities of being permeated by bonding, attentive care, aggressivity, and solidarity. It was possible to understand a shared world that brings aggression that may originate from carelessness, accidents or other people. These children, however, were very affectionate and open to each other, revealing ways of mitdasein in solidarity and attentive care of the elderly and with classmates

O objetivo específico deste estudo é compreender como se mostram os modos de ser criança na realização de atividades grupais dentro de uma escola municipal de São Paulo. O caminho construído nesta dissertação parte do reconhecimento da criança como um ser histórico e cultural, tecendo assim uma leitura de como foi se constituindo a compreensão de criança ao longo do desenvolvimento do pensamento ocidental, segundo Ariès. Recorremos a Merleau-Ponty, que colaborou para a compreensão da infância sob a luz da fenomenologia, e, principalmente, às contribuições trazidas por Heidegger, para apreender o que se conheceu no encontro com as crianças, já compreendidas como ser-aí. Foram realizados três encontros com seis crianças de sete a oito anos, estudantes do 2º ano do Ensino Fundamental I. No primeiro encontro foram realizadas duas atividades. A primeira foi uma atividade de apresentação e a segunda uma proposta de construção de uma cidade. No segundo encontro foi proposta a elaboração de um desenho coletivo com o tema como é a minha vida . E no terceiro encontro foi realizada uma devolutiva dos encontros. A análise foi elaborada a partir dos relatos dos desenhos realizados, mas, sobretudo, considerando as conversas durante os encontros. Para tal, buscou-se compreender quais os modos de ser criança que se desvelaram à luz da fenomenologia-existencial apresentada por Heidegger. Foram revelados modos de ser criança que mostraram possibilidades de ser permeados pelo vínculo, pelo cuidado atencioso, pela agressividade, e solidariedade. Foi possível compreender um mundo compartilhado que traz agressões podendo vir de imprudências, acidentes ou de outras pessoas.
