This research aims to investigate and reflect on the nuances of teaching English to Young Learners in the context of Elementary School in the city of São Paulo. The case study was attended by five teachers from a Regional Board of Education of the city of São Paulo and from the perspective of these teachers make comments about the data. The information was collected through questionnaires that contained open and closed questions regarding the profile of the participating teachers, professional experience and continuing education provided by the Municipal Education Department. The theoretical framework that will support the research will be based on studies by Cameron (2001), Vygostsky (2001), Mckay, (2006), Ellis (2002), and analysis of Administrative Rule 5,361, published by the “Diário Oficial da Cidade” , which instituted the Program "Língua Inglesa no Ciclo I". The methodological approach used in this research will have a qualitative approach, as it aims to understand and interpret aspects related to certain agents of a specific teaching context
