Resumo: | The objective of this work is to investigate the meanings the prisoners give to education. Those men are anonymous, condemned to isolation and loneliness and education is specific since it takes place in a singular world. In order to do so we’ve taken the “classjail” and its actors, the students, as our main interlocutors. Since the “classjail” is inserted in prison we’ve considered important to comprehend it by examining its genesis and its constitution along History. We’ve also considered necessary to understand the influence exerted by the prison environment upon the prisoners in order to understand the difficulties they face and their ways of resistance. After we had examined prison and its methods for domination and control of the incarcerated mass, we were able to analyse the “schooling” education inserted there in a different look. We could then analyse the meanings attributed to this education which isn’t neutral and is integrated to prisioners’ subjugation in confront with their resistance. The views come from those who resist to deprivation and get adapted to a new way to live together, who have their individuality restricted and is obliged to share every millimetre of floor and every second of his life with the incarcerated mass. It’s a look deprived of infinitude in hopes of freedom, which afterwards will have to readapt to another world, from their origin, after being released, and is temporarily blinded by the high walls. Thus, by talking to prisoners we were not only able to learn other meanings, many times unknown, but also to confirm some established ideas and conceptions regarding to education inside prison |

Estes são homens anônimos, condenados ao isolamento e à solidão. Aquela é uma educação específica, pois acontece em um mundo particular. Para tal propósito, escolhemos a “cela de aula” e seus atores, os alunos, como nossos principais interlocutores. Estando a “cela de aula” inserida no interior da prisão, consideramos importante compreender este outro mundo. Posto isto, procuramos investigar sua gênese e sua afirmação ao longo da história. Julgamos também necessário entender a influência exercida pela prisão sobre os prisioneiros, compreendendo, assim, as suas dificuldades enfrentadas e as formas de resistência. Dessa maneira, conhecendo a prisão e seus métodos de dominação e controle da massa encarcerada, poderíamos analisar a educação “escolar”, ali presente com um outro olhar. Analisar os sentidos conferidos a essa educação que, não só não é neutra, como é parte integrante do confronto entre a subjugação e a resistência dos prisioneiros. Um olhar de quem resiste às privações e se adapta a uma nova forma de convívio. Um olhar que tem a sua individualidade tolhida, obrigado a dividir cada milímetro de chão e cada segundo de vida com a massa carcerária. Um olhar, privado do infinito, que espera a liberdade e que precisará se readaptar a um outro mundo, mundo de sua origem, ofuscado temporariamente pelas muralhas.
