Objective: Contemplate the scientific production about the impacts result of pregnancy loss from the perspective of the mothers who experienced them. Method: an integrative literature review has been carried in the BVS Saúde, CAPES, PEPSIC, Scielo, LILACS, and PubMed databases in November 2022. Studies indexed in the databases and published in Portuguese in the last five years have been included. Results: The analysis of the selected publications allowed the identification of four themes: the empty lap, the inversion of the life cycle, invisible mourning devoid of rights, and the silenced pain. The research findings point to the urgency of exposing the matter of mourning resulting from pregnancy loss. The analyzed literature points with greater emphasis to the scarcity of studies on this subject, produced particularly by psychology and in the Portuguese language, as well as to the gap in the training of health professionals, where death, dying, and mourning continue to be hard subjects and superficially addressed. Found that lack or inadequate social support from health professionals stands out as the factor that most negatively impacts mothers who have suffered miscarriages
