Resumo: Introduction: In search of consolidating the principles of the Unified Health System (SUS), Health Care Networks (RAS) were created: primary, secondary and tertiary networks. These are services of different technological densities, which are interconnected by means of logistical systems and care models that allow connectivity and communication between health services. By establishing guidelines for the regulation of Health Care Networks as a strategy for overcoming the fragmentation of care, it was hoped that there would be na improvement in the effective response to the population's health needs. However, after more than a decade, there are still challenges in strengthening Health Care Networks. Recent studies point to the difficulty users have in understanding the differentiation between the health services available in primary and secondary care, which is why users persist in seeking care in urgent and emergency units such as Emergency Care Units with complaints that could be dealt with by primary care. Objective: In order to address this problem, this study seeks to characterize the profile and understand the perception of SUS users about the Health Care Networks in the municipality of Votorantim/SP through a Field survey at the Jataí Emergency Care Unit. Method: This is an exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach. A semi-structured interview was carried out with SUS users at the Jataí Emergency Care Unit in the municipality of Votorantim-SP in June 2023. The participants' characterization data and statements were analyzed using Bardin's Content Analysis method. Results: It was observed that users preferentially seek health services at the UPA and are predominantly female, aged between 18 and 39 and do not have supplementary health insurance. SUS users' perceptions of the Health Care Networks were related to the difficulty of accessing health services, users' search for solutions, the development of bonds in health care and knowledge of the differences between the services offered in primary and secondary health care. Conclusion: It was concluded that SUS users' knowledge of the HCN is related to their perception of the health-disease process, which is still centered on the biomedical model and is of an immediate nature. In addition, we observed other factors expressed in their reports that influence their search for health services, such as access, the search for solutions and the role of the link in health care. However, there are few current studies on the way users use health services in Brazil, and there is a need for more studies and research on the subject
