Resumo: This article presents reflections about the interdisciplinary work with elderlies, from the vision of the team of professionals of psychology and social assistance of a long-stay institutions for the elderly. Evidences related to the contribution of the interprofessional performance, considering biopsychosocialaspects of the aging, the health promotion and the institutionalization. The results show the benefit of actions in this perspective and the importance of understanding the elderly and the welcoming process in its multiple aspects.

Se abordó la contribución del trabajo interprofesional, considerando los aspectos biopsicosociales del envejecimiento, la promoción de la salud y la institucionalización. Los resultados muestran el beneficio de las acciones desde esta perspectiva y la importancia de comprender la acogida y el proceso de acogida en sus múltiples aspectos.Este estudo apresenta reflexões sobre o trabalho interdisciplinar com idosos, a partir da visão da equipe de profissionais de Psicologia e Assistência Social de uma Instituição de Longa Permanência para Idosos (ILPI). Foi abordada a contribuição da atuação interprofissional, considerando-se os aspectos biopsicossociais do envelhecimento, a promoção de saúde e a institucionalização.
