Information and Communication Technologies, smartphones and elderly users: an integrative review in the light of the Sociological Theories of Aging

Resumo: The population of elderly people in Brazil grows vertiginously; the life expectancy of this population is growing all over the world. Among the technologies that arouse the interest of the elderly public are computers, tablets, mobile phones, smartphones and Internet access. This article aims to present an integrative review on Information and Communication Technologies, made available on smartphones, elderly users and categorize them in the light of Sociological Theories of Aging. Among the results, it was evidenced that the researches in this context are still incipient and a systematization of 18 scientific works, international and national, was made, relating Information and Communication Technologies and Sociological Theories of Aging.Keywords: Elderly; TIC; Smartphones; Sociological Aging Theories.

Entre las tecnologías que despiertan el interés de la población de edad avanzada, son ordenadores, tabletas, teléfonos móviles, teléfonos inteligentes y el acceso a Internet. Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar una revisión integradora de las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación, disponible en los teléfonos inteligentes, usuarios de edad y clasificar a la luz de las teorías sociológicas del envejecimiento. Entre los resultados, se evidenció que aún están incipiente investigación en este contexto y se realizó una sistematización de 18 artículos científicos en el nivel internacional y nacional, en relación las Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación y las teorías sociológicas del envejecimiento.Palabras clave: Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación; Teléfonos inteligentes; Personas mayores; Las teorías sociológicas del envejecimiento.A população de pessoas idosas no Brasil cresce vertiginosamente; a expectativa de vida desta população está crescendo em todo o mundo. Entre as tecnologias que despertam o interesse do público idoso, encontram-se os computadores, tablets, celulares, smartphones e o acesso à Internet. O presente artigo tem como objetivo apresentar uma revisão integrativa sobre as Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação, disponibilizadas em smartphones, usuários idosos e categorizá-los à luz das Teorias Sociológicas do Envelhecimento.
