Elder perceptions regarding physiotherapy care in aging

Resumo: | In Brazil aging population and growing demand of people with chronic diseases and functional disabilities has attracted health scientists attention, since the process involves not only live, but also social relationships and family system. In this context, physical therapy inclusion at the primary level is presented as a strategy to strengthen primary care, increasing the Health System resolution in strengthening the integral care. Objective: To know elderly perceptions on physical therapy care developed within the family / domiciliary context. Method: Exploratory and descriptive study with a qualitative approach, performed at a municipality in Bahia, Brazil, in the period from April to July 2013, using as instruments: semi-structured interview applied to four elderly, users of domiciliary physiotherapy service Programme of Action of the Interdisciplinary Center of Studies and Extended Care and who had preserved cognitive conditions, according to Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE). Results: The results showed satisfaction of subjects concerning physical and functional changes resulting from physical therapy homecare on your overall well-being, and the home, as a privileged space to proximal rehabilitative action care, which was reversed in bonds of solidarity, sensitive listening, personal development and friendship. Nevertheless, it was also identified dissatisfaction regarding discontinuation and resolution of treatment during academic recess, making attention to the need for motivation in resilient people targeting capabilities. |

Nesse contexto, a inserção da fisioterapia no nível primário apresenta-se como uma estratégia capaz de fortalecer a atenção básica, aumentando a resolutividade do Sistema Único de Saúde, no reforço à integralidade na assistência. Objetivo: Conhecer as percepções da pessoa idosa sobre os cuidados fisioterapêuticos desenvolvidos no contexto familiar/domiciliar. Método: Estudo exploratório e descritivo, com abordagem qualitativa; realizado em um município localizado no interior do Estado da Bahia, Brasil, no período de abril a julho de 2013, utilizando como instrumento: entrevista semiestruturada aplicada a quatro pessoas idosas, usuárias do serviço de fisioterapia domiciliar do Programa de Ação Continuada do Núcleo Interdisciplinar de Estudos e Extensão e que possuíam condições cognitivas preservadas, de acordo com Miniexame do Estado Mental (MEEM). Os resultados evidenciaram satisfação dos sujeitos quanto à evolução físico-funcional decorrente do atendimento fisioterapêutico domiciliar em seu bem-estar geral, bem como o domicílio, um espaço privilegiado para a ação reabilitadora proximal dos cuidados, que se reverteu em vínculos de solidariedade, de escuta sensível, de valorização pessoal e de amizade.
