Resumo: This project intends to carry out cross-cultural adaptation of the scale of social networks Lubben (LSNs-18) for Brazilian Portuguese. This scale is an instrument widely used to assess the social integration and the risk of social isolation in elderly residents of a community. Social support can be defined as the material and psychological resources available to the individual through their social networks. It is important to create support for the elderly policies considering how to integrate, complement or contradict the support from the formal or informal support networks. In the present context, it is necessary to use of social networking reviews that are practical and simple in terms of the time of application and analysis.

Esta escala es un instrumento muy utilizado para evaluar la integración social y el riesgo de aislamiento social en los ancianos residentes de una comunidad. El apoyo social puede definirse como los recursos materiales y psicológicos accesibles al individuo a través de sus redes sociales. Es importante crear políticas de apoyo a las personas mayores considerando la forma en que se integran, complementan o contrarresta las ayudas procedentes de las redes de apoyo formales o informales. En el contexto actual, se hace necesario el uso de evaluaciones de redes sociales que sean prácticas y simples, en lo que se refiere al tiempo de aplicación y análisis. Este trabalho tem como produto a adaptação transcultural da escala de redes sociais de Lubben (LSNS-18) para o Português brasileiro. Essa escala é um instrumento muito utilizado para avaliar a integração social e o risco de isolamento social em idosos residentes de uma comunidade. O apoio social pode ser definido como os recursos materiais e psicológicos acessíveis ao indivíduo por meio de suas redes sociais. É importante criar políticas de apoio aos idosos considerando˗se a forma como se integram, complementam, ou contrariam os apoios provenientes das redes de apoio formais ou informais.
