Resumo: Freedom of movement is an essential human right that enables people to exercise social interaction and citizenship. Ensuring accessibility is still a challenge, specifically in urban areas and for people with reduced mobility. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the mobility of the elderly as pedestrians, motorcyclists, drivers, cyclists and public transport users. 100 elderly people were assessed using a questionnaire with questions related to mobility and urban mobility such as drivers, pedestrians, motorcyclists, cyclists and public transport users. Public transportation, followed by cars, is the most widely used means of transport. The ease and quality of these means of transport are mentioned as the main reasons for this. A small portion of the elderly presented motor, visual and cognitive difficulties. Most elderly do not recognize the changes resulting from aging in relation to motor, visual and cognitive abilities such as drivers, cyclists, motorcyclists, public transport users and pedestrians. However, they have perceptions, especially of the external environment, related to urban mobility, which cause them difficulties, these mobility changes make them change their behavior such as walking and driving slower, avoiding

Garantizar la accesibilidad sigue siendo un desafío, específicamente, en las zonas urbanas y para las personas con movilidad reducida. El objetivo del presente estudio es evaluar la movilidad de las personas mayores como peatones, motociclistas, conductores, ciclistas y usuarios del transporte público. Se evaluó a 100 personas mayores mediante un cuestionario con preguntas relacionadas con la movilidad y la movilidad urbana, tales como conductores, peatones, motociclistas, ciclistas y usuarios del transporte público. El transporte público, seguido del automóvil, es el medio de transporte más utilizado. La facilidad y calidad de estos medios de transporte se señalan como los principales motivos de ello. Una pequeña parte de los ancianos tenía dificultades motoras, visuales y cognitivas. La mayoría de las personas mayores no reconocen los cambios resultantes del envejecimiento en relación con las capacidades motoras, visuales y cognitivas como conductores, ciclistas, motociclistas, usuarios del transporte público y peatones. Sin embargo, tienen percepciones, principalmente del entorno externo, relacionadas con la movilidad urbana, que les ocasionan dificultades, estos cambios en la movilidad les hacen cambiar su comportamiento, como caminar y conducir más despacio y evitar algún medio de transporte. A liberdade de locomoção é um direito humano essencial que possibilita às pessoas o exercício da interação social e da cidadania. A garantia da acessibilidade ainda é um desafio, especificamente nas áreas urbanas e para pessoas com mobilidade reduzida. O objetivo do presente estudo é avaliar a mobilidade dos idosos como pedestres, motociclistas, motoristas, ciclistas e usuários de transporte público. Foram avaliados 100 idosos por meio de um questionário com questões pertinentes à mobilidade, e mobilidade urbana, como motoristas, pedestres, motociclistas, ciclistas e usuários de transporte público. O transporte público, seguido dos automóveis são os meios de transporte mais utilizados. A facilidade e qualidade desses meios de transporte são apontados como principais motivos para tal. Uma parcela pequena dos idosos apresentaram dificuldade motoras, visuais ou cognitivas. A maioria dos idosos não reconhece as alterações decorrentes do envelhecimento em relação às capacidades motoras, visuais e cognitivas como motoristas, ciclistas, motociclistas, usuários de transporte público e pedestres.
