Resumo: This research, descriptive and sectional, aimed to present psychoeducational interventions in the group of professional caregivers and in their relationship with the elderly in a Day center for the elderly. The experience showed that caring can be rewarding, but professional unpreparedness or lack of support can generate physical and emotional burden for the caregiver, with an outcome for mental health. Thus, interventions with caregivers have been fundamental in sharing knowledge, raising awareness of old age phenomena, providing professional development, which sustains and promotes quality in personal and provided care. Secondarily, it generated therapeutic effects through the expression of members' emotions and emotional continence in the group field.Key words:

Secondarily, it generated therapeutic effects through the expression of members' emotions and emotional continence in the group field.Key words: Esta investigación descriptiva y seccional, tuvo como objetivo presentar las intervenciones psicoeducativas en el grupo de cuidadores profesionales y en su relación con personas mayores en un Centro de día para ancianos. La experiencia demostró que cuidar puede ser gratificante, pero la falta de preparación o apoyo profesional puede generar una carga física y emocional para el cuidador, con un resultado para la salud mental. Así, las intervenciones con los cuidadores han sido fundamentales para compartir conocimientos, sensibilizar a los fenómenos de la vejez, brindar un desarrollo profesional, que sustenta y promueve la calidad en el cuidado personal y brindado. En segundo lugar, generó efectos terapéuticos a través de la expresión de las emociones de los miembros y la continencia emocional en el ámbito grupal. Esta pesquisa, descritiva e seccional, objetivou apresentar intervenções psicoeducativas no grupo de profissionais cuidadores e na sua relação com as pessoas idosas em um Centro-dia para idosos. A vivência mostrou que cuidar pode ser gratificante; porém o despreparo profissional ou ausência de suporte pode gerar sobrecarga física e emocional ao cuidador, com desfecho para a saúde mental. Assim, as intervenções com os cuidadores têm sido fundamentais na partilha de saberes, tomada de consciência de fenômenos da velhice, oportunizando o desenvolvimento profissional, que sustenta e promove a qualidade nos cuidados pessoais e prestados.
