Resumo: This article aims to reflect on the challenges of professional work within the scope of the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, being the result of a qualitative research that addresses, from the records of workers ( per hour, researchers, the main findings in view of the growing presence of the elderly segment in the service, generating a high demand for requests and monitoring of Social Security benefits and aids. The pandemic moment demanded that CRAS recognize itself as open-door equipment, to guarantee the elderly's access to social rights, and that through listening to strengthen the role of public policies as a field of social protection to produce new practices and innovate in welcoming vulnerable old age in the municipality of Irati, PR.

El momento pandémico exigió que el CRAS se reconociera como un equipo de puertas abiertas, para garantizar el acceso de las personas mayores a los derechos sociales, y que a través de la escucha fortaleciera el rol de las políticas públicas como campo de protección social para producir nuevas prácticas e innovar en la acogida de ancianos vulnerables. edad en el municipio de Irati, PREste artigo tem como proposta tecer reflexões sobre os desafios do trabalho profissional no âmbito do Centro de Referência de Assistência Social (CRAS) no contexto da pandemia da Covid-19, sendo resultado de uma pesquisa qualitativa que aborda, a partir de registros de trabalhadores(as), por hora pesquisadores(as), os principais achados diante da crescente presença do segmento idoso no serviço, gerando uma alta demanda de solicitações e de acompanhamentos de benefícios e auxílios da Previdência Social.
