Resumo: This study investigated whether there is a difference between body image and genital self-image in women with and without urinary incontinence, as well as the presence of sociodemographic factors and gynecological history of 132 elderly women. Incontinent elderly women showed a statistically significant difference in marital status, presence of warts and number of deliveries in relation to those who had no losses. Body image and genital self-image did not differ between groups.

Body image and genital self-image did not differ between groups. Este estudio investigó si existe una diferencia entre la imagen corporal y la autoimagen genital en mujeres con y sin incontinencia urinaria, así como la presencia de factores sociodemográficos y antecedentes ginecológicos de 132 mujeres de edad avanzada. Las mujeres de edad avanzada incontinentes mostraron una diferencia estadísticamente significativa en el estado civil, la presencia de verrugas y el número de partos en relación con aquellos que no tuvieron pérdidas. La imagen corporal y la autoimagen genital no diferían entre los grupos.Palabras clave: Este estudo investigou se existe diferença entre a imagem corporal e a autoimagem genital em mulheres com e sem incontinência urinária, bem como a presença de fatores sociodemográficos e antecedentes ginecológicos de 132 idosas.
