Resumo: The present study aims to indentify models of care and support direct to informal caregivers of the elderly and discuss the importance of these interventions in caregiver health. Was  verified that among the models of care and support applied to caregivers of the elderly, psychoeducational interventions were the pedominantones offering innumerable contributions as a better understanding about the aging process and the changes that accompany it, a better understanding about the disease that affects the elderly, acquisition of knowledge about care, increased use of strategies to cope with negative situation and stress redction among others. The nurse practitioner was the one who was in charge of this assistance in most of the studies, confirming his commitment to the elderly and his family.

The nurse practitioner was the one who was in charge of this assistance in most of the studies, confirming his commitment to the elderly and his family.El presente estudio tiene como objetivo identificar modelos de atención y apoyo dirigidos a cuidadores informales de ancianos y discutir la importancia de estas intervenciones en la salud del cuidador. Observamos que predominaron las intervenciones psicoeducativas, contribuyendo a una mejor comprensión del proceso de envejecimiento y los cambios que lo acompañan, sobre la enfermedad que afecta al adulto mayor, adquisición de conocimientos sobre el cuidado, mayor uso de estrategias para enfrentar situaciones negativas, reducción del estrés, entre otros . El enfermero profesional estuvo a cargo de esta asistencia en la mayoría de estudios, confirmando su compromiso con la asistencia al anciano y su familia. O presente estudo tem como objetivo identificar modelos de atenção e suporte direcionados a um cuidador informal de idosos e discutir a importância dessas intervenções na saúde desse cuidador. Observamos que as intervenções psicoeducacionais foram predominantes, contribuindo com uma melhor compreensão sobre o processo de envelhecimento e das alterações que acompanham essa etapa da vida, sobre as doenças que acometem a pessoa idosa, a aquisição de conhecimentos sobre o cuidado, o aumento do uso de estratégias para enfrentamento de situações negativas, a diminuição do estresse, dentre outros aspectos.
