Resumo: The present study aimed to identify the structure and extension of basic and special social protection services for the elderly offered in the city of Belém, PA, Brazil. It is an exploratory-descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, using a document analysis technique. Social protection services for the elderly in Belém are incipient, they are still in discontinuous processes, lack of articulation between levels of complexity and between an intersectoral network.

Social protection services for the elderly in Belém are incipient, they are still in discontinuous processes, lack of articulation between levels of complexity and between an intersectoral network. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar la estructura y la extensión de los servicios de protección social básica y especial para ancianos ofrecidos en el municipio de Belém-PA. Se trata de un estudio de cuño exploratorio-descriptivo, con abordaje cualitativo, utilizando la técnica de análisis documental. Los servicios de protección social para ancianos en Belén son incipientes, aún se encuentran procesos discontinuos, falta de articulación entre los niveles de complejidad y entre la red intersectorial. O presente estudo objetivou identificar a estrutura e a extensão dos serviços de proteção social básica e especial para idosos oferecidos no município de Belém, PA, Brasil. Trata-se de um estudo de cunho exploratório-descritivo, com abordagem qualitativa, utilizando a técnica de análise documental.
