Resumo: In the context of the recent mega events in Brazil – the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games –, the urban projects that were implemented indicate the strengthening of the corporate pattern of city production, within a growing hegemony of the logic of profitability, financialization and private management of collective goods and services, enabled by huge public investments. They imprint, on space, a selectivity and exclusivity of market use and consumption, associated with the current financial globalization cycle and the neoliberal urbanism that is configured. This process brings remarkable changes in the public-private accessibility of urban space, which has generated strong tensions in the social achievement of the right to the city as a collective good in facing today’s growing socio-spatial segregation and urban exclusion.

Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo2018-04-16info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.pucsp.br/index.php/metropole/article/view/2236-9996.2018-4112Cadernos Metrópole; Vol. 20 No. 41 (2018): mobilidade espacial; 245-265Cadernos Metrópole; Vol. 20 Núm. 41 (2018): mobilidade espacial; 245-265Cadernos Metrópole; Vol. 20 No. 41 (2018): mobilidade espacial; 245-265Cadernos Metrópole; v. 20 n. 41 (2018): mobilidade espacial; 245-2652236-99961517-2422reponame:Cadernos Metrópole (Online)instname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)instacron:PUC_SPporhttps://revistas.pucsp.br/index.php/metropole/article/view/2236-9996.2018-4112/25192Copyright (c) 2018 Cadernos Metrópole.info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessGordilho Souza, Angela Maria2021-05-17T21:24:15Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/31799Revistahttps://revistas.pucsp.br/metropolePRIhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.phpcadernosmetropole@outlook.com||cadernosmetropole@outlook.com2236-99961517-2422opendoar:2021-05-17T21:24:15Cadernos Metrópole (Online) - Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)false
