Resumo: Jane Eyre, originally published in 1847, it is considered one of the main works of English literature, bringing the protagonist’s narratives about the sufferings, violence and losses experienced until the encounter with happiness. In this work, Charlotte, one of the celebrated Brontë sisters, brings the possibility of problematizing love, kindness, hate, redemption and suffering, from the perspective of the narrator-protagonist, who was orphaned at a young age and brings her faith as a fundamental thread to understand not only the narrative universe, but also to reflect on how these themes relate to practical conceptions of Christians. The way she sees the world and dialogues with the realities she faces, leaves space to think the dynamics and paradoxes between the discourses on the Christian faith and how it is experienced in daily life by different groups and subjects. Jane’s life brings to readers the challenge of thinking, from a literary work, concepts that enter different temporalities and bring reflections that extend from literature to social reality.
