In face of Art: : Martin Buber’s thought as path to spiritual hermeneutics

This essay aims to discuss the issue of Martin Buber’s hermeneutics and his relationship with art. Our starting point is the I-Thou relationship as a path to spiritual hermeneutics. Next, we will discuss the question of the relationship between hermeneutics and art in Buber’s thought and, by extension, the question of the dialogical relationship with the spheres of nature and objects. The question of what Buber calls “the grace of unity”, the moment of the soul’s intimate encounter with God, will also be addressed. For this, the voices of Czeslaw Milosz, Simone Weill, Paul Tillich, Milan Kundera and Dostoyevsky will be heard, interpreted from the Buberian perspective. We conclude with the hypothesis that it is possible, from the hermeneutical horizon given by Buber thought, to think about a conception of spiritual hermeneutics with a dialogical character
