Resumo: The purpose of this article is to trace a movement of approach and strangeness between documentary and journalism. On one hand, the cinema-verité of Jean Rouch, and on the other, the gonzo journalism of Hunter Thompson. Both have questioned the current notions about what would be journalism and documentary, about the role of these forms of discourse within society, about how do they represent reality, about which features certify their legitimacy, etc. Cinema-verité and gonzo journalism not only indicate a new professional approach but also new ways to relate to the world they are filming or describing.

De um lado, o cinema verdade de Jean Rouch, e, do outro, o jornalismo gonzo de Hunter Thompson.
