Resumo: The present paper aims to discuss some relations between space and subjects from a few possibilities provided by the new immigrant restaurants in São Paulo. The first point to be developed concerns how the space of the restaurant is an object of constructed value and not a naturally ascribed meaning, like a spontaneous character. The second, how the space of the immigrant restau- rant can hold different experiences for distinct subjects through their basic thematic roles. Both points are developed from Greimasian semiotics and the socio-semiotics developed by Eric Landowski. Thus, we will see how alterity, in its creation of its own spaces, contributes to the elaboration of new mean- ings and new senses revived by immigrants and experienced by Brazilians.

Este artículo tiene como objetivo discutir algunas relaciones entre el espacio y los sujetos a partir de algunas posibilidades que brindan los nuevos restaurantes para inmigrantes en São Paulo. El primer punto a desarrollar se refiere a la forma en que el espacio del restaurante es un objeto de valor construido y no un significado dado de forma natural, de carácter espontáneo. El segundo, como el espacio del restaurante para inmigrantes puede albergar diferentes experiencias para diferentes temas a través de sus roles temáticos básicos. Ambos puntos se desarrollan a partir de la semiótica greimasiana y, en particular, de la sociosemiótica elaborada por Eric Landowski. Se verá, por tanto, cómo la alteridad, en su creación de espacios propios, contribuye a la elaboración de nuevos significados y nuevos sentidos revividos para los inmigrantes y vividos por los brasileños. O presente artigo se propõe a discutir algumas relações entre espaço e sujeitos a partir das possibilidades propiciadas pelos novos restaurantes imigrantes de São Paulo. O primeiro ponto a ser desenvolvido diz respeito ao modo como o espaço do restaurante é um objeto de valor construído e não uma significação dada naturalmente, de caráter espontâneo. O segundo, como o espaço do restaurante imigrante pode comportar diferentes experiências para sujeitos distintos por meio de seus papeis temáticos básicos. Ambos os pontos são desenvolvidos a partir da semiótica greimasiana e, em especial, da sociossemiótica elaborada por Eric Landowski. Ver-se-á, assim, como a alteridade, em seu fazer criador de espaços próprios, contribui para a elaboração de novas significações e de novos sentidos revividos para imigrantes e experienciados pelos brasileiros.
