This paper aims to provide a case study on brasilian juvenile literature. From the reading of works such as Na praia da Ferrugem, Insônia and A primeira vez e muitas vacas, all written by Marcelo Carneiro da Cunha, we intend to conduct an analyses of who the characters, respectively, are: Maria, Cláudia and Vita, all adolescents at the age of 15. In addition, we aim to understand the trajectories of the protagonists to reach in its entirety, ie, the other to then try to understand the maximum degree of alterity, adolescent sexuality. The theorist we used for this purpuse are the most varied, as Zygmunt Bauman, Stuart Hall, Joseph Campbell and Georges Bataille. Through a discussion between theory and analyses, we also inquire what can be considered juvenile literature, which are its main themes and conflicts, its characteristics, to then achieve more comprehensive definitions.
