This research aims to identify the influence of Social Capital on Knowledge Sharing among individuals from different teams, who use Traditional or Agile methods for software development. The motivation of the research is due to the relevance of software development in the global economy, adding to it the fact that it is a knowledge intensive area and that, historically, it has presented unsatisfactory results related to the index of successful projects. The research was applied at the individual level, considering the inter-team relationship, within the same organization, and using traditional or agile methods for software development. From the point of view of Knowledge Management (KM), what distinguishes the methods is the focus on the type of knowledge; Traditional methods focus on explicit knowledge, while Agile methods focus on tacit knowledge. From the KM perspective, both methods present potential challenges for Knowledge Sharing. From the systematic literature review, where 142 documents were read and analyzed, the hypotheses that are part of the conceptual model were derived. Population sampling is non-probabilistic and has been identified through the snowball procedure. The method is survey and data was collected through the Qualtrics tool, totalizing 250 valid answers. The analysis of the data was done through structural equation modeling, with the support of SmartPLS® version 3.0. Five out of nine hypotheses were supported indicating that the three dimensions of Social Capital exert a positive influence on the sharing of knowledge. The facets of Social Interactions and Shared Vision (Structural and Cognitive Dimension, respectively) demonstrated direct influence on Tacit Knowledge Sharing and indirect on Explicit Knowledge Sharing, while the facet of Reciprocity (Relational Dimension) has a direct influence on both. Multigroup analysis was applied and pointed out the differences and intensities of these influences.
