This dissertation discusses the concepts of sustainable development and technology parks, incorporating subjects such as corporate social responsibility and Eco-industrial parks. Furthermore, guidelines aimed at more sustainable businesses are documented. The overall goal of this research is to analyze the adoption of sustainable initiatives in the technology park context. However, there is a gap in the literature of sustainable initiatives analysis and the challenges that direct their adoption in technology parks and their context. Through an exploratory case study with the unit of analysis being the adoption of sustainable initiatives and the possible influence of the generic features present in the technological park context, this research contributes to the literature in the specified subject. The results indicate that the Park's speech and its context – respect to sustainable development – are based on two conceptions: culture and laws. This acknowledgment comes from both Park management and businesses, seeing that the research is conducted in two perspectives:the first to verify the alignment in Park management and the other to assess the perception of the businesses regarding the actions directed by the Park in the dissemination of initiatives. In the context of the results, the potential of generic features as support channels for the development of sustainable issues was evident. In the end, the study covers the identification of sustainable initiatives that were being applied in the context of the Park.
