Resumo: This paper aims to discuss the changes in Natal’s urbanization standard in the context of the restructuring of the citiy’s urban planning instruments. To this end, it analyzes the studies used as base for the elaboration of the Urban and Development Plan of Natal, of 1968, by Escritório Serete S/A and, in the urbanistic part (i.e. reading urban structure and landscape, analysis and projects), by Jorge Wilheim Associated Architects. Para eso, analiza los estudios que apoyaron la elaboración del Plan Urbanístico y de Desarrollo de Natal, de 1968, a cargo de la Empresa Serete y, en la parte urbanística (de lectura de la forma urbana y del paisaje, análisis y proyectos), por la oficina de Jorge Wilheim Arquitectos Asociados. Palabras clave: Jorge Wilheim; plan urbanístico; historiaurbana; villa miseria.Este artigo discute as mudanças no padrão de urbanização de Natal no contexto de reestruturação dos marcos do planejamento urbano da cidade. Para tanto, analisa os estudos que embasaram a elaboração do Plano Urbanístico e de Desenvolvimento de Natal, de 1968, de responsabilidade do Escritório Serete S/A e, na parte urbanística (de leitura da forma e da paisagem urbanas, de análises e projetos), pelo escritório Jorge Wilheim Arquitetos Associados.
