The challenges of emancipation of the Afro-Brazilian population: miscegenation, interculturality and corporeity

Resumo: We present the ambivalences of the "mestizo" stereotype and the relation with the formation of the Brazilian State. Next, we discuss the challenges of the Afro-Brazilian population in emancipating themselves from the mechanisms of power that limit their recognition, by cloistering the Negro in the racialized "other." Finally, we think of performance and corporeity as artifices and creative paths of its political production. Keywords: miscegenation; racism; interculturality; corporeity.

Por último pensamos la performance y la corporeidad como artificios y caminos creativos de su producción política.
