Resumo: Our main objective was to reconstitute the process of institutionalization of university teaching of History at the University of Paraná (UP) in the 1940s, emphasizing the process of curricular change that the course of Geography and History passed in the period. We sought to highlight what was intended to teach students so that they could perform the office of historians with technical and intellectual property. We also sought to analyze how science and religion were articulated to promote the formation of character and profile of the professional that was intended to build in the course.

Buscaremos destacar lo que se pretendía enseñar a los alumnos para poder desempeñar el oficio de historiador con propiedad técnica e intelectual. También buscaremos observar cómo la ciencia y la religión se articulaban para promover la formación del carácter y del perfil del profesional que se pretendía construir en el curso.O nosso principal objetivo com este texto será o de procurar reconstituir o processo de institucionalização do ensino universitário de história na Universidade do Paraná (UP) nos anos 1940, dando ênfase ao processo de mudança curricular por que o curso de geografia e história passou no período. Procuraremos destacar o que se pretendia ensinar aos alunos para poderem desempenhar o ofício de historiadores com propriedade técnica e intelectual.
