No âmbito deste objetivo, procurei analisar como se pode perspetivar a atividade de brincar, que lugar e papel é atribuído a esta atividade e que contornos tem na intervenção pedagógica. Do ponto de vista metodológico, o trabalho enquadra-se numa abordagem qualitativa de investigação. Além disso, insere-se no paradigma interpretativo pois procurei entender e dar a conhecer o significado atribuído pelos participantes no estudo às suas ações. Simultaneamente, o estudo tem proximidades muito significativas com a modalidade de investigação-ação. Com efeito, não apenas observei e procurei compreender o modo de agir das educadoras durante os estágios desenvolvidos em creche e no jardim de infância, como planifiquei, sobretudo com a educadora do jardim de infância, atividades que concretizei com as crianças e refleti sobre o que experienciei tendo por horizonte melhorar as minhas práticas de educadora. Os principais métodos de obtenção de dados foram recolha documental, a observação participante, conversas informais com as educadoras e entrevista. O estudo ilustra que a atividade de brincar tem diversas potencialidades educativas entre as quais se destacam o desenvolvimento global da criança (emocional, motor, psicológico, social), que permite que a criança se conheça a si própria, desenvolva interações com os outros, mas também que adquira conhecimentos relativamente ao mundo que a rodeia. Ilustra, ainda, que é importante que o educador proporcione tempo para as crianças brincarem e que encare esta atividade como um recurso para apoiar o aprofundamento de aprendizagens já feitas pela criança e também como um meio para introduzir novos conceitos e temáticas.The aim of the present work is to understand the educational potential of the playing activities, in the kindergarten. Regarding this goal, we tried to analyze how the activity of playing can be seen, what place and roll does it entail and its implications on the pedagogical intervention. From the methodological point of view, this work can be seen as a qualitative approach of investigation. Furthermore, it is an interpretative paradigm since we have tried to understand and make clear the significance that the participants in the study give to their actions. Simultaneously, the study is significant similar to the models of research-action. As an effect, we have not only observed and tried to understand the actions of the kindergarten teachers during the internships developed in the day care and in the kindergarten, but we have also planned, mostly with the kindergarten teacher, activities that were done with the children and reflected on what was experienced, with the goal of improving our work as educators. The prior methods used to collect the data where the documental collecting, the participant observation, the informal conversations with the kindergarten teachers and the interviews. This study illustrates that the activity of playing has several educational potentials, from which we highlight the global development of the kids (emotional, motor, psychological and social), which not only allows the children to know themselves better and develop more interactions with the peers, but also promotes a better understanding of the world.
