Resumo: Onchocercosis by Onchocerca lupi is an emerging zoonosis, but only case reports are available in dog populations. Of 107 animals sampled in Greece and Portugal, 9 (8.4%) scored positive. Molecular analysis confirmed the morphological identification and showed that those from Portugal differed at larger extent from all others available.
