Summary: This paper analyzes the description of clitic pronouns in the metagrammaticals works of the Portuguese language of the 16th and 17th centuries. Based on works that, among other aspects, discuss in some detail the pronoun in the gramatical tradition of Portuguese language, it is studied the degree of gramatization of the forms, as well as the grammatical speech about them regarding the description, the prescription and the paradigms in which they are integrated.
