Diabetes is a nosology growing as an epidemics all around the world. Besides pharmacological managing, Diabetes management is also the management of the patient’s life style. Traveling may implicate sharp changes in the traveller’s day by day. In order to prepare the diabetic patient’s travel, and to be as specific as possible during the medical appointment, it will be very useful to collect and systematize detailed data, referring to the context of the travel. The aim of this paper is to systematize some of the topics that are important to be focused in the medical appointment concerning the travel’s context and the consequent counselling. Concerning the voyage framework topics such as way of travelling or type of voyage, destiny country conditions, evaluation of the diabetic traveller concerning its disease, its limitations, and its relationship with the sickness are approached. In the recommendations we underline items such as adjustment of the diabetic medication to the voyage, and features concerning alimentation, dressing, self monitoring, the essentials to be carried along in the hand luggage, and how to transport insulin. The aim of this is to contribute for the best metabolic equilibrium possible, reducing essentially, the risk of hypoglicemia and other complications along the travel and the stay.
