Resumo: As an intern, I completed my professional internship at the Pedrouços Primary and Secondary School, with the goal of continuing to learn how to perform the teaching role. I was part of an internship group made up of three trainees, a co-operating teacher from the school and a tutor from the Faculty of Sport at the University of Porto. The aim of this work is to share, review, analyse and reflect on the course taken during the internship, which enabled me to improve and develop my skills as a teacher. This was a remarkable year, full of experiences in a real teaching context, which enabled me to develop myself both professionally and personally. The report is structured in different chapters: the Introduction; the Personal Framework, in which I describe my journey up to the Professional Internship and my expectations of it; the school and the class, in which I characterise them and express how they have influenced my practice; the Professional Framework, which includes my conception of Physical Education, the different levels of planning, the operationalisation in practice and topics such as assessment, the reflection process, the classes observed and the experience of teaching a class of a different age group; Participation in the School- Community Dimension and finally the Conclusion and Future Perspectives, making a final reflection on the skills acquired and final considerations about the internship, as well as setting out my plan for the future. The action research study was about students' self-assessment in handball. My goal was to check if, by changing the teaching and assessment methodology, there was a change in the results obtained in the student's self-assessment or if the gap between the assessment and the student's perception persists. In my context, the results show a partial change in the students' self-assessment, which is more in line with reality. Students have increased their perception and understanding of their assessment.
