Força Psicológica no alto rendimento da Ginástica Artística: as percepções de atletas e de um técnico da Elite do Brasil

Among the different themes related to studies in High Income, it is increasingly considered the psychological force as a decisive point to achieve great results. The present work investigates the perceptions of the attributes of psychological strength of an active group of national and international achievement, of the High Performance of the Artistic Gymnastics of Brazil. Six athletes and a coach participated in the research, and were all submitted to a semi-structured interview, by the preparation of two question guides used them in previous studies on psychological strength but adapted to the reality of Artistic Gymnastics. The inductive analysis presented 12 attributes that a psychologically strong athlete has for the athletes' group, and 10 attributes for the coach's vision, 8 of which are compatible among all participants (self-confidence, focus, training and competition resiliency, discipline, regulation emotional, tolerance to pain and fatigue, intrinsic motivation, competitiveness). These attributes were associated with the experience of each one. In general, it was exposed that a psychologically strong athlete is one who knows how to transfer to competitions what he does in training, both in opportunities and adversities, because the technical side does not always disagree. The gymnast is psychologically strong technically and physically, and this domain of psychological strength comes from a process of proper experimentation and direction, since this construct is made with a strong multidisciplinary team.
