Resumo: | The present project work proposes an analysis of the poem Erlkönig (1782), by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832), with the intention of obtaining information that would enable its adaptation in the form of a stop motion animation. Firstly, through the intersemiotic translation, a term coined by the Russian Roman Jakobson (1896-1982) and later developed by Julio Plaza (1937-2003), we tried to go through the vast spectrum of interpretations contained in Goethe's poem. To this end, a more detailed analysis of the poem, its characters and signs was made based on a survey of historical records of the context of the poem's appearance and of traditional myths and ballads from Germanic folklore, present at its root. Furthermore, four works that were inspired by the poem were also selected and analyzed, reflecting, through different platforms, the plurality of interpretations to which Goethe's poem is open. These are namely: Erlkönig by Franz Schubert (1815); The Erl-King by Angela Carter (1979); El Rey de Los Elfos by Borja González (2013) and Erlkönig by Georges Schwizgebel (2015). Through this analysis, we sought to understand the reasons why an 18th-century poem remains, to this day, inspiring and deriving new works, in different languages and forms of representation. Finally, the project used this research to develop a cinematic script and to produce a specific puppet for stop motion animation, constructed with manual resources and with the help of 3D printing technology. |
