Resumo: The future of work is an area of interest for scholars and analysts. Throughout the last few decades there have been several perspectives about it, and the greatest reason for concern is related to the technological evolution which, in many analysts’ point of view, will relegate humans to an expendable status in many areas, thus generating a shortage of jobs and major economic problems. In this paper, this perspective and others put forward by analysts will be analyzed in a bibliometric way. Using data collected from the Scopus website, this will be analyzed using the outputs from the VOSviewer software, followed by a literature review of the 20 most cited articles about the future of work and, to conclude, a personal analysis intended to understand the most relevant topics and reasons for optimism and concern.
