The dissertation "pela casa do espaço" dedicates itself to the observation of man's relation with the cosmos, the origin, as a means of understanding architecture that, like a universe in an order of our own, integrates the everything that the cosmos comprehends. It is intended to study this architecture relational with the universe that since always motivated the dream in man, on the pretext of a projectual moment of concept that proposes an astronomical observatory in Ponte da Barca, has the maximum exponent of the architectonic dispositive that puts man in this council between the earth and the sidereal, by its meaning: forever gazing at the sky. The peculiar character of the dissertation arises from a relation of intimacy with astronomy, triggered by personal experiences with this science, lived in travels, books, movies and, visiting these buildings. This journey found way in a process of palpable imagination of the A Casa do Espaço 1958/62, a house that foresees getting to know the sky, that thrives on its museum-like sense and scientific divulgation of architect Fernando Lanhas, the man of the dreams, in resemblance of what an observatory foresees in its most embracing significant: to summon knowledge democratically, in order to amplify horizons in populations. The narrative's composition goes through several dimensions culminating in 3 moments: the cosmos, the dream, the odyssey, correspondingly, an approximation to the subject through the awareness of our place; to imagine, to dream as a means to arrive in casa do espaço; and to conceive, the depuration of the inevitable.
