O uso da Arte na formação dos assistentes sociais em Portugal

Resumo: Scientific research and professional practice have shown that the different forms of artistic expression (music, theatre, dance, etc.) are particularly effective instruments for social intervention, whether in the prevention, rehabilitation and treatment of people with psychosocial problems, or in their potential to empower and strengthen the social and personal development of individuals in a community. For this reason, training social interventionists using art becomes, in our perspective, an imperative condition. This paper presents the data for Portugal from the project "El Uso del Arte en la Formación y en la Intervención del Trabajo Social: Estudio Comparado entre España y Portugal" (INATS). Using documentary research, the syllabuses of undergraduate degrees in Social Work in Portugal, taught in 16 public and public schools, were analysed. From the analysis of the syllabuses it can be concluded that Art is still very little present in this training.
