Resumo: The present study aimed to understand the moments of acceleration of the offensive phase in Soccer teams. Behavioral, structural and interaction patterns of 12 teams participating in the national championships of Portugal and Spain in the 2015/2016 season were analyzed, considering the competitive level of the teams and the league in which they operate. For the accomplishment of the analysis was used the observational methodology, through the use of the observation instrument of the SoccerEye offensive phase with some adjustments made so that the analysis of these moments is possible. For the data recording, the software LINCE was used, while for the sequential analysis the SDIS-GSEQ software was used, and for the multinominal logistic regression the software IBM SPSS Statistics was utilized. In both studies, it was found that the teams use the moments of acceleration of the offensive phase to score goals, but the top teams are the ones that mark the most after these moments and that these happen mostly by passes than by individual actions. In addition, in the top teams is required of the defenders who participate in the acceleration of the game, taking advantage of more players in the attack. It has also been found that the top teams use the spatial interaction zones and contexts that are most conducive to each of the ways to accelerate the game, allowing them to score more goals. The Spanish top teams score more goals per moment of acceleration than the Portuguese ones and prefer the moment of acceleration initiated by a front or diagonal break pass, while the Portuguese teams use more the short cross-line pass to accelerate the game before Mark. In addition, the results of these studies demonstrate that Spanish teams also demand more offensively from their defenders and that they use zones and spatial interaction contexts better than Portuguese teams. In the end, it was also clear that the spatials patterns of interaction are determining factors for the moments of acceleration of the offensive phase.
