Resumo: | This dissertation has the goal of presenting the remodeling of a 38m2 apartment. Presented as Minimum Dwelling: how to live in 38m2, has a theoretical-practical approach since it aims to investigate the reduced-dimensions dwellings thematic using the concepts of flexibility and functionality as the base of the architectural project. In order to accomplish the proposed goal, it was necessary to understand the minimum parameters of functionality in a house so as to draw a solution that, although compact, would respond to the basic needs of comfort and wholesomeness. To do so, there was a theoretical analysis, focused on the minimum dwelling from the historical and social context with the Modern Movement - which revolutionized the way of living through architecture - to the practical and physical context of living in reduced dimensions. As a complement to the research, five case studies are presented to illustrate several minimum dwelling contexts as well as the different possible solutions. The culmination of the investigation is reached with the project where the study object is an apartment with no noticeable functionality issues, but, with the theoretical research, one can understand that the current design is not the best solution for such a reduced area. The challenge was to maximize and expand the inhabitant's perception of space. |
