Technology has served an important role in the evolution of society as we know it, allowing for a better quality of life by offering technological support for the execution of several tasks. This is specially true when it comes to impaired individuals, seeing that not only does technology generally make the execution of said tasks easier but in some cases it actually made possible the execution of tasks that otherwise could not be executed by these individuals. Despite the diversity of existing software solutions designed for impaired individuals, those of them that are designed for educational and rehabilitation contexts mainly focus on academic /pedagogical content or embody solutions aimed at concrete domains of functionality (such as communication and mobility). Consequently, the need to broaden the domain of such support software into areas of large contexts of participation (such as virtual cities, projected in such a way to incite the development of functional and social skills in the target population - disabled people) has been further emphasized, particularly in respect to inurement for adult life, specifically in the inurement for professional and autonomous life (area in which the diversity of resources and aid programmes is even more scarce).Having acknowledged the lack of existing technological support in the aforementioned area, a functional prototype for a software solution targeted at impaired individuals has been developed in the scope of this work, one that fosters the process of autonomously building a personal e-portfolio with the intention of positively contributing to the development of supporting mechanisms for these individual's transitional process into active life. In particular, it is this work's goal to contribute with a software solution that meets the current need for support in compiling résumés and portfolios that demonstrate the individual's experiences and skills, acknowledging such activities as fomenting processes for personal development, which constitute a starting point to new opportunities in the transition to adult and autonomous life.Keywords: Interface Design, User Experience, Digital Portfolios, E-portfolio, Transition into an active adult life.
