Resumo: This dissertation is motivated by the possibility of accomplishing the project to transform the ruins of Quinta da Osória, Alvações do Corgo, Alto Douro Vinhateiro, into a space to accommodate guests, adapting it to current needs. This work adopts an exploratory position that searches and relates to real, investigates it and seeks for clues to the project. On the whole, the inquiry and hesitations, provided by the confrontation between those who project - motivated by their convictions and research - and the physical manifestations of the real - which stimulate an analytical and, therefore, reflective vision - build the relationship between theoretical research and project practice. This dissertation is, in this work, the ship's log - a closet where the compass for navigation is located. Therefore it is the space/instrument where the paths and directions of the project are recorded and noted. The aim of this work goes beyond the discovery of a definitive solution for Quinta da Osória, since it seeks mainly to wander around questions that have been raised and transformed throughout the process. Thus, the formulation of the presented project oscillates between a specific request and the reading of the specificity of the place and its context, exploring, at the same time, the thinking and the building processes of my own thought (or the thought itself) in architecture.
