Resumo: Taking, as a challenge, the words of the architect Álvaro Siza that architecture is "Art, or is not Architecture [and understanding it] not as a matrix [but] provocation, and therefore the vocation to distort, to transform. Desire, slowness, destruction, detachment, construction", this dissertation seeks to find and clarify an idea of architecture of its own alongside the reading of the work of Álvaro Siza. An idea of architecture available for the encounters that take place in its experience, in the evasion of theory as a prescriptive and immutable orientation. An availability that happens in the anonymous, between circumstances and the silence that can arise from them. An idea of architecture which is related to the process of designing, in what is its disciplinary circumstance, in friction with an artistic practice of drawing that informs it, in an attempt to stabilize a learning process so that it can inform our (project for a) project-of-architecture - our house. Therefore, this work is organized in four moments: (1) exhibition and reflection on the experience of designing that was possible for us to dynamize until the writing of this dissertation, motivated by the interest in revisiting the "casa do jardineiro", an academic exercise, seeking to discern a method of approach to the circumstances of his designing; (2) presentation of the notes and consequent readings, exposing the process of approach to the reading of Álvaro Siza works; (3) a series of encounters, texts and drawings that seek to focus our reading of an idea of architecture with Álvaro Siza (4) a synthesis of the house that, as a result of the various encounters, seeks to bring together and point out circumstances of its liberation, so that we may continue to build it.
