Wiener-Hopf operators on variable Lebesgue spaces

Resumo: We develop the basic theory of compact and Fredholm operators on Banach spaces. Afterwards, we establish the density of the linear span of the system of dilated Laguerre functions in some types of separable Banach function spaces and specify it for variable Lebesgue spaces. Following this, we define the algebra of continuous Fourier multipliers in variable Lebesgue spaces, and prove that the ideal of compact operators is contained in the algebra generated by Wiener-Hopf operators with continuous Fourier multipliers.
